EQUIPP Academy: Training the Pharmacy Team of 2026

In this first episode for 2026, Host Kerri Musselman, PharmD, BCACP, introduces Ashley Ramer, MSN, RN, to discuss the launch of EQUIPP Academy, a new educational platform designed to help pharmacy teams navigate value-based care and non-dispensing revenue opportunities. The conversation focuses on making clinical education accessible for busy pharmacy staff without interrupting patient care. 

EQUIPP Academy is structured around "micro-learning" modules. Most lessons are 5 minutes or less, allowing staff to gain essential knowledge on-demand during small gaps in their schedule.

Who Should Participate: The academy is designed for all pharmacy team members, from new hires to seasoned staff, who handle EQUIPP data or patient outreach.

Okay, so first question of the day. What is EQUIPP Academy and why was it created?

So EQUIPP Academy was created basically to kind of give our pharmacy end users the ability to learn about EQUIPP and provide easy, accessible information. Obviously our team is more than happy, to have on demos and show through the platform with these pharmacies.

But we also know that time is tight. Time is limited for these pharmacists. They're very busy. So we wanted to create something else that kind of is practical, on demand courses that are focused on, non-dispensing revenue. A bunch of little training pieces aligned with value based clinical opportunities. Within EQUIPP Academy, there's a bunch of tools to improve efficiency.

So first obviously you're talking about EQUIPP Academy.

First I would send your team straight to EQUIPP Academy. A couple modules I can point out. Our EQUIPP 101 is fantastic. This will just get everybody kind of oriented to how the data flows, where to focus in EQUIPP and how performance ties back to revenue. After that, I probably would call out the Documentation 101 module that we have in there.

This way the team understands how to capture the work that they're already doing in a way that actually counts. And then if I had to point out one more, it probably would also be our Enhanced Services documentation. This one really walks through how to document things like blood pressure, A1c, and our LAMP program. This is where pharmacies are actually getting paid for things such as quarterly check ins, extended supply conversions, final fills that will pop up towards the end of the year, and then the clinical measurement.

So nothing slips through the cracks for your performance or payment. Those are the three that I would highlight within EQUIPP Academy. And the second thing that I would do is, we really stress the importance of building a simple weekly habit. So log into EQUIPP once a week, review opportunities, complete the outreach and consistency here really does drive quick momentum.

And then the last thing that I probably would have your team focus on is we did just launch, a Q1 Pharmacy Checklist, actually. We created this for pharmacies. It's located within our Knowledge Base, which is, at help.pharmacyquality.com. You can go through you can find the Q1 Checklist and basically just a, little playbook, a little practical playbook, for getting your staff aligned.

So identifying key patients early, staying on track throughout the year. Do those three things. And I would say that you will see impact fast without overwhelming your team with something else.

So lamps are a longitudinal adherence monitoring program. Within there, that's kind of where those quarterly check ins, final fills, extended day supply conversions, all live.

And so this year, starting in Q1, towards the end here we are going to be having quarter one check ins. Starting end of February, beginning of March-ish. You'll start to see those opportunities pop up. So starting there, obviously those are for every quarter Q1, 2, 3 and 4. Final fills you will see towards the end of the year.

Those are opportunities that are attached to some financial gain for keeping those patients adherent for the year, and then the extended supply conversion. So converting those patients over, you can actually get a little bit of financial gain back from doing that.
